Israeli Biomed startups are highly sought out by global investors as well as multinationals. Jerusalem is the largest biomedical focus in Israel – home of the Hebrew University, Hadassah and Shaare Zedek medical centers and 140 Biomed companies, mostly BioPharma. Facilitating this biomedical cluster is BioJerusalem, a government initiative by the Jerusalem Development Authority. BioJerusalem directly supports biomedical activity, fosters collaborations between industry, academia/medicine and financial partners as well as iniciates startegic ventures in the field throughout the city.
