One of the most common central nervous system diseases (brain and spinal cord) is Multiple Sclerosis (MS). An estimated 47,000 people are affected in Spain, 600,000 in Europe and more than 2,000,000 in the world. This disease of unknown cause, although the existence of a genetic predisposition is accepted, will be discussed with some of the most experienced stakeholders in the area. Unmet needs, new developments in diagnosis and treatment, resources and services for patients and the economic impact will be priority topics of this session, as well as the present and future of research and communication in MS.
